Serbian Prime Minister Djuro Macut met on Tuesday with Minister of National Defense of Lebanon Michel Menassa, on the sidelines of the Commemorative Meeting marking the 65th anniversary of the First Conference of the Non-Aligned Movement. Macut expressed his gratitude to Lebanon for its consistent position in respecting Serbia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.

"This year marks the 80th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Serbia and Lebanon, which have been characterized by mutual understanding and respect," Macut said.

The Serbian prime minister welcomed Lebanon's confirmed participation in EXPO 2027 in Belgrade and added he was convinced the event would contribute to bringing the two countries even closer together, the Government of Serbia said in a statement.

Menassa assessed that there are significant opportunities to further strengthening cooperation between Serbia and Lebanon in areas of mutual interest.
