We visited the grave of Ratko Mladic 11 days after his funeral: Here's what we encountered

Eleven days after Ratko Mladic was laid to rest, his grave in the Topcider Cemetery in Belgrade continues to be visited every day by citizens.

A large amount of flowers and wreaths, as well as a large number of candles have been placed at the grave site itself, which indicates that the visits did not stop after the funeral.

It is noticeable that people continue to go to the Topcider Cemetery in order to pay their respects. The situation around the grave site is calm, without major organized gatherings, but people do continue to visit non-stop.

The former commander of the Army of the Serb Republic, who was sentenced to life by the former ICTY on charges of genocide and war crimes, died on August 27, and was laid to rest on September 7 in Belgrade.

The funeral was preceded by a church service which was led by Serbian Orthodox Patriarch Porfirije.

After that, a large number of mourners accompanied the coffin to the cemetery. Mladic was buried with military honors - the coffin was covered with the flags of Serbia and the RS, while members of the Serbian Army performed a gun salute.
