Vucic speaks from Central Park at 6 am: I will fight for our country

Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic posted on his Instagram account from the Central Park in New York, at six in the morning, local time.

"Here I am in Central Park in New York at six in the morning and what's important to mention to you, I'm not running, I'm not able to brag about turning the pedals or running fast. I don't have the strength to brag, but I learned to get up early and work hard for my country," said Vucic and continued:

"We are preparing today with many meetings for the appearance at the UN. Of course I am nervous, the only thing I can promise people is that I will fight for us and for our country. One thing I would tell my comrades is to fight, I will arrive in Serbia in two or two and a half days and I will lead the fight against those who destroyed our country, insulted and destroyed our values," he said, among other things.

"And that's why my message to everyone is this: what they did is not a one-off issue. I don't know if you people understand how terrible it is and not that they threatened me with rape on their official accounts, which today they say was satire, what kind of satire is that - but what is much more important is that they showed us how they would treat our grandmothers, mothers, wives, daughters, granddaughters, sisters. And we must not allow that," said Vucic, speaking about his political opponents' election campaign at home.

He added that this must not be glossed over, and told all women in Serbia not to be concerned.

"We will defend and save Serbia and such people will never lead our country. Because I am sure that they will not gain your trust, or of our entire people. And thanks for all the messages of support before tonight's address. All I can say is I'll do my best. Special thanks to the women of Serbia and thanks to all of Serbia," said Vucic.
