10 VEHICLES involved in yet another pile-up caused by smoke! At least four people injured

A pile-up took place on a highway near Kuzmin around 13:00 hours today, and as confirmed for Telegraf.rs by the Sremska Mitrovica police, it involved 10 vehicles. According to initial information, four people were injured, two of them children.

Four trucks and six passenger vehicles collided, according to early reports.

After traffic was brought to a complete standstill, it resumed in the direction of Batrovci only in the fast lane.

An on-site investigation is underway, and a larger number of ambulances can be seen at the site, while there is no detailed information about those injured at the moment. Three persons were transported by ambulance to the hospital in Sremska Mitrovica.

Videos from the scene show emergency doctors rushing in to help, crushed trucks and cars, as well as a passenger vehicle that drove under a truck.

Smoke from the fields surrounding the highway, that can be seen in one of the videos, is so thick that not even the scene of the pile-up is visible until one gets close to it.

There was another pile-up yesterday on the same highway, between Pecinci and Simanovac, also caused to thick smoke coming from the fields. That accident involved 14 vehicles, with at least seven people injured.
