The leader of the "United Serbia" election list, Aleksandar Vucic, reacted last night to the break in into TV Informer premises by a group of citizens.

"Tonight we watched unprecedented, monstrous violence, a break in at Informer, an attack on freedom of expression, freedom of public speech, freedom of journalism. It's interesting that no one is allowed to say a word about it, the EU is silent, everyone is silent, many journalists' associations are silent, many fellow journalists are silent, since they (rioters) evidently have the right to take it out on (Informer editor in chief) Dragan Vucicevic. If we had done that with N1 or Nova S (TV outlets), who were saying ten times worse things than anything Vucicevic said about the blockaders, we would have been branded as the worst thugs, dictators, autocrats, who knows what," Vucic said, and added:

"However, there is something far more dangerous here. Dragan J. Vucicevic called the first person on the blockaders' (Student) list, Srdanovic, and asked him if he wanted to help him and ask the people (who burst into the premises) to leave. He didn't want to do that. We're dealing with dangerous and irresponsible people. We are dealing with people who think that everyone should be afraid of them, rather than have a conversation."

But Vucic said that they were "very much mistaken" because "there are people who went through all this before in 2000."

"And we are not afraid of them at all. We will oppose them in every place, preserving our personal and physical integrity. But this tells you how little it takes. One day, from the moment we conceded and congratulated them, which they had not done in a single election in 14 years, and they were losing those by a million and a half votes. So once we finished everything and did what it seems they didn't expect, they don't know what to do. They don't know what to do with it. Rather, it's, let's harass someone, the best way to celebrate is by beating someone up, holding them hostage, and there is no accountability anywhere. Thank you to the few honorable policemen who wanted to do their job, because most of them didn't today, in a bid to engratiate themselves with the new authorities," said Vucic and added that he has a long fight ahead of him, but that he will emerge from it victorious.
