School Director Branimir Kostic said that the professor was fired because the "captured photo was an inappropriate pose for teachers." He believes that the "inappropriate teacher pose" represents a "negative example to students" and that she "harmed the reputation of the Medical School."

The president of the Podgorica Union of Education Slobodan Savović said that the organization would try to help Dabanović and Malidžan and doubts that procedures for dismissal were not respected. Most of the comments from the students supported their professor and petitioned her layoff.
"Reinstate the woman ... no big deal ... worse and immoral things happen when you shut down the camera," stated one of the comments.
