Speakers at the forum in Banja Luka were the top experts in the subject matter of family businesses from several countries in the region and spoke about the significance, perspectives and challenges of family businesses

The second business forum dedicated to family businesses in Republika Srpska was held on May 27 in Banja Luka and brought together about 150 managers, owners and employees of family businesses. The organizer of the forum, the Centre for Education "Pro Educa", has been promoting the importance of family  firms for economic development for the past 5 years by exploring the important topics, and bringing together stakeholders in this project, including owners and managers of family businesses as well as representatives of the academic community, official institutions, the media and the general public.

- I am happy about the fact that this project has a regional character, to be implemented in six countries in the region and that it has really great potential. Equally, I am happy because of the fact that more and more people recognize that it is necessary to devote time to the theme of family firms of which literally and concretely build the foundation for the future of our economy and our personal future - said the author of the project Dragan Močević.

VESELIN JEVROSIMOVIC: We need more women in the IT industry!

A special guest of the Forum was the founder and co-owner of the "Comtrade group" Veselin Jevrosimovic, whose experience aroused great interest of the participants and the media. Jevrosimovic talked about his business trip that began nearly 30 years ago in America, and has grown into one of the largest family businesses in the region today.

- Today, the Comtrade Group operates in a large system with 1,600 employed programmers. I hope that the countries in the region understand the importance of  information technology, as IT today is the same as economy - said Jevrosimovic.

The founder of the Comtrade Group stressed that it is necessary to carry out the quality selection of personnel, but also be willing to change, explaining the process of adapting in the case of the global economic crisis, which has brought tremendous changes in the world.

- When the period of global economic crisis occured - it was clear that the company could not survive with the current management who successfully led the company  before the crisis. It was time for urgent changes and urgent formation of crisis management - said Jevrosimovic.

The Centre for Education "Pro Educa" announces the continuation of this project in Bosnia and Herzegovina and Serbia, and soon the organization of the forum in Montenegro, Macedonia, Bulgaria and Albania. The business forum dedicated to family businesses in BiH is scheduled for November of this year.
