Ohio National Guard commander meets with Vulin: "Serbian soldiers are outstanding professionals"

The Ohio National Guard commander confirmed that cooperation in the field of cybersecurity is very important and said that both sides have something to learn from each other

Defense Minister Aleksandar Vulin met today with Ohio National Guard Commander Major General John Harris, who is visiting Serbia.

Minister Vulin stressed that cooperation with the Ohio National Guard is developing to the mutual benefit, with military cooperation being the best part of bilateral relations, which is taking place in a number of fields such as joint military exercises, cybersecurity, medicine and religious service, as well as by developing the project of a training center for units participating in multinational operations at Base Jug.

Minister Vulin informed his interlocutor about the current political and security issues in the region, focusing on the unchanged position of the Republic of Serbia regarding the status of Kosovo and Metohija, with an emphasis on Serbia doing everything to bring the negotiations between Belgrade and Pristina to a completion in the best possible way, with a lasting and a sustainable solution that will bring stability and prosperity to the entire region.

The defense minister also said that the transformation of the Kosovo Security Force into a so-called Kosovo army is absolutely unacceptable.

The Ohio National Guard commander confirmed that cooperation in the field of cybersecurity is very important and said that both parties have something to learn from each other.

He said he was particularly pleased with the organization of joint exercises and cited the Platinum Wolf exercise as an example.

Bearing in mind that he has been involved in the cooperation between the Serbian Army and the Ohio National Guard for the past 13 years, from the very beginning, Major General Harris said that members of the Serbian Army remain outstanding hosts and professionals when it comes to the military profession.
