Famed Serbian composer Zoran Hristic passes away

He won several domestic and international awards, including the Little Prince lifetime achievement award

Composer Zoran Hristic has passed away at the age of 82.

Zoran Hristic was born in Belgrade. He studied at the Giuseppe Verdi Conservatory in Milan and the Music Academy in Belgrade, where he graduated in 1963.

He received the prestigious Stevan Hristic Award for the best diploma thesis. Zoran Hristic's opus includes solo, chamber, vocal and instrumental pieces, music for ballet, theater, film, television, and radio.

He won several domestic and international awards, including the Little Prince lifetime achievement award. He has also won two Sterija awards and two Golden Arena awards for stage and film music.

He also composed the music for the opening cermeony of the Olympic Games in Sarajevo.

Hristic was art director and curator of the Bemus Festival and the Mokranjac Days, and editor-in-chief of the RTS music department. As a jury member and distinguished artist, he made great contribution to the affirmation of the Trumpet Festival in Guca.
