Case of "false recognition of Kosovo" shakes Pristina: Albanians want to sack Vlora Citaku

Hashim Thaci said on Twitter yesterday that he wa informed by Ambassador Vlora Citaku that Jamaica had recognized the so-called Kosovo

A Kosovo Assembly member from the Self-Determination Movement Fitore Pacolli says that if it was confirmed that Jamaica's recognition of so-called Kosovo was fake news, then Kosovo Ambassador to America Vlora Citaku should be fired, RTS reports.

"We don't need ambassadors who are spreading false information. If the news of Jamaica's recognition is not true, Ambassador Citaku should be fired immediately and her responsibility sought," Pacolli wrote on Facebook.

Hashim Thaci said on Twitter that he was informed by Ambassador Vlora Citaku that Jamaica had recognized so-called Kosovo independence.

However, Jamaican Foreign Minister Kamina Johnson Smith denied Thaci's allegations, stressing that Jamaica did not recognize so-called Kosovo independence.

Former Pristina Foreign Minister Behgjet Pacolli thanked Jamaica on Twitter despite not recognizing so-called Kosovo's independence.

"Thank you Jamaica in any case, thank you Minister Kamina Johnson Smith, thank you USA, Eliot Engel. Kosovo and Kosovars will remain forever trusted friends of the government and people of Jamaica," Pacolli wrote on Twitter.
