A Serbian citizen who was arrested in Bar, Montenegro on an Interpol notice is Predrag M. (42), Belgrade media are reproting.

According to Informer, he is a suspect in a crime that took place on November 3, 1997 in front of the official entrance to the stadium of Red Star Football Club in Ljutice Bogdana Street in Belgrade, when Vladan Cvetkovic, a kickboxer and amember of the then Yugoslav national team, was killed.

Predrag M. has been placed in extradition detention.

Vladan was killed on his way back from a training session

Vladan Cvetkovic was brutally murdered on November 3, 1997 in Belgrade in front of the Red Star stadium, as he was returning from a training session. At around 6:10 pm, two young men waited for him in the parking lot in front of the stadium.

Eyewitnesses said at the time that they first heard an argument, followed by shots being fired. Cvetkovic received two bullets in the stomach and two in the chest. He was left lying on the concrete, seriously wounded.

Cvetkovic was transported to the hospital in a taxi, but the doctors' efforts were in vain and he passed away after a few minutes. The killers fled the crime scene in a Lada, setting off a police search operation that lasted all night.

Who was Vladan Cvetkovic?

Cvetkovic achieved top results in five years. He was twice the vice-champion of Yugoslavia in low kick and full contact, three times the champion of Yugoslavia, and had won gold in the Balkan Low Kick Championship the year he was killed (1997) .

Five days before he was killed, he received an invitation from the federal head coach to join the preparations of the national team for the Full Contact World Cup, which was held in Poland.

Cvetkovic also worked as security at the Ritz nightclub.
