Vucic receives Giaufret on farewell visit: "We summarized cooperation, exchanged opinion on numerous topics"

President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic today received head of the Delegation of the European Union to Serbia Emanuele Giaufret on a farewell visit, and after the meeting, Vucic states that they exchanged opinions on many topics.

"A cordial and friendly meeting with Ambassador Giaufret and an excellent opportunity to summarize previous results of cooperation, which during his mandate additionally contributed to the strengthening of relations between Serbia and the EU. We also exchanged opinions on other topics of importance for the partnership with the Union in numerous areas of mutual interest," reads a post on the president's Instagram account.

Vucic pointed out that they specifically discussed implementation of the projects envisaged in the Growth Plan for the Western Balkans, as well as joint energy and infrastructural projects in which the EU is a reliable and good partner to Serbia.

"I reiterated that we especially value cooperation with the EU, which is our country's largest foreign trade partner, as well as one of the largest investors in projects that changed the face of Serbia and raised the quality of life of our citizens," said Vucic.

He added that they recalled some difficult, but also beautiful moments.

"When we worked step by step on reforms and undertakings that brought great benefit to our citizens, especially in the field of energy, environmental protection and infrastructural connections with the EU," added Vucic.

The president thanked Ambassador Giaufret for his personal efforts in strengthening cooperation with Serbia, as well as for the friendship he showed towards Serbia.

"I wished him much success in his future professional engagements and invited him to visit Serbia again as a dear and respected guest," concluded Vucic.
