Minister of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications Tatjana Matic said today that roaming charges in Greece will be abolished for citizens of Serbia on July 1.

"This is an agreement that abolishes roaming charges, that is, citizens will no longer pay the roaming charges that existed until now, but will pay the same in Greece as in domestic traffic," Matic told TV Pink.

The minister recalled that the last phase of the implementation of the agreement on reduction or abolition of roaming charges in the Western Balkans will come into force on July 1.

"This means that roaming charges will not apply in Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina, North Macedonia and Albania, instead in these countries the prices from a plan will be valid like in domestic traffic, and Greece will join them," said Matic.

The minister said that the negotiations between Serbia and Greece on this issue lasted a year and a half, and that an agreement in principle was reached last year but that the final agreement was reached during the recent visit of Prime Minister Ana Brnabic to Athens.

"In conversation with the Greek prime minister, the prime minister agreed definitively on the abolition of roaming charges," said Matic.
