The current epidemiological situation in Serbia can be assessed as uncertain, with a tendency to become unfavorable, says epidemiologist and member of the Crisis HQ Branislav Tiodorovic, pointing out that the number of new daily cases and the increased hospitalizations show that.

Tiodorovic said that the number of deaths due to Covid-19 have increased and that recently a 22-year-old who was not vaccinated lost his battle with the disease.

"More than 92 percent are those who are hospitalized have not been vaccinated. Unvaccinated people are terribly much more likely to get sick with a more severe clinical picture, even 20 times more than vaccinated people," Tiodorovic told TV Prva.

He said that a meeting of the Crisis HQ is expected at any moment, as well as that a curfew or restrictions of movement will not be introduced.

"There is no need because we are not in that kind of situation. However, the measures that we did not abolish must be respected - masks, distancing, and disinfection," Tiodorovic stressed.
