In a joint operation with the police during a deep control in the border zone with Montenegro, near the town of Slatina, the customs officers cut a smuggling ring and seized more than 42 kilograms of marijuana.

The drugs were discovered last night at around 10 pm thanks to a detailed search of the terrain on the Brodarevo-Slatina road, along the riverbed of the river of the same name.

With the help of a customs service dog, specially trained to detect narcotics, the customs police team found four large bags full of marijuana packages on the left side of the road.

They were measured and determined to weigh about 42.3 kilograms, packed in 40 packages, wrapped in PVC foil.

The drugs were handed over to the police and the prosecutor's office, which will conduct a comprehensive investigation into this case.
