Warning about more chaos in Serbia: A storm will hit these parts of the country the hardest

A new warning is in force, and an orange meteoalarm is in force in several parts of Serbia

A new RHMZ warning is currently in force.

Today, local showers with thunder, hail and stormy winds in the rain zone are expected in the southwest, south and southeast of Serbia.

More intense showers in Vojvodina are expected during the night between Wednesday and Thursday, and on Thursday during the day in eastern Serbia.

Strong storm hit Serbia yesterday

In Cacak, the storm broke trees, sent roof tiles flying, in Ivanjica, hailstones the size of an egg were falling, while houses in Lucani were left without roofs.

A strong wind broke trees, blocking roads and causing traffic jams. Great damage was done to the crops.

Residents of villages around Topola complained that they do not remember such bad weather. Because of the wind and broken trees, a part of the municipality was left without electricity.

High of 29 degrees in Belgrade

It will be mostly sunny in Belgrade today, with development of weak daytime cloud coverage. Wind will be weak and moderate, northwesterly. The lowest temperature around 19, the highest around 29 degrees Celsius. During the night, short-lasting showers with thunder are possible in some parts of the city.

Until Thursday, June 29, it will be partly cloudy and moderately warm in Serbia, with more frequent occurrence of local showers with thunder. On Friday, mostly sunny, with the local development of clouds, and rare short-lasting showers on hills and mountains.

From Saturday it will be mostly sunny and warmer, and at the end of the period it will be cloudy with rain, showers, thunder and a drop in temperature.

Orange and yellow weather alarm in effect

Orange meteoalarm is in force today in Backa, Banat and Srem, as well as in southeastern and southwestern Serbia and in Kosovo and Metohija, while in the rest of the country is in the "yellow."

An orange weather alarm means that the weather can be dangerous.

"Dangerous weather phenomena have been forecast, and they are of such intensity that they can cause material damage and be dangerous to people and animals. One should be very careful, aware of the risks and keep informed about the details of the expected meteorological conditions. Follow the advice given by competent state services," RHMZ said, explaining the warning.
