In the first five months, 24,171 children were born in Serbia, which is 515, or 2.2 percent more than in the same period last year, when 23,656 babies were born, the Statistical Office announced today.

From January to May this year, 52,602 people died, which is a decrease of 4,117 or 7.3 percent compared to the same period last year, when 56,719 people died.
