Two more people poisoned by mushrooms were admitted to the VMA today, so now there are a total of 10 patients suffering from mushroom poisoning who are treated in that institution, Tanjug was told by the clinic.

Another person from Sabac and one from Lajkovac have been admitted to the VMA with the same symptoms.

Eight people are in serious condition and continue to receive intensive medical treatment.

Seven residents of Sabac were transferred to the VMA yesterday. All of them ate mushrooms purchased from the same market stall.

In recent days, they bought mushrooms from an elderly woman at the city Zivinarnik market. The first patient with symptoms of poisoning reported to the hospital in Sabac on Wednesday, another on Friday, and as many as five on Sunday.

The seven patients, the youngest of whom is 33, were first admitted to the Sabac hospital, and then sent to Belgrade.

The police subsequently arrested M.G. (72) from the village of Cukovine, who is suspected of selling the poisonous mushrooms.

The woman will be detained for up to 48 hours and will then be questioned at the Basic Public Prosecutor's Office in Sabac.
