Vucic meets with Angolan Interior Minister Laborinho: "We will always support Serbia on the issue of Kosovo"

President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic met this morning with Minister of Internal Affairs of Angola Eugenio Cesar Laborinho.

Minister Laborinho conveyed greetings to President Vucic and delivered a message from President Joao Lourenco, with the wish for relations between the two countries to receive a new impetus.

Reciprocating the greetings, President Vucic expressed his hope that President Lourenco will visit our country soon.

"Serbia remains committed to fostering good relations with friendly countries, which we have built throughout history through mutual respect and understanding even in the most difficult times," the president stressed and added that Serbia is especially grateful to Angola for its principled position and consistent support for our positions on Kosovo and Metohija, the president's press service said in a statement.

Minister Laborinho said that Angola is closely monitoring the situation in our region and conveyed that the country will always support Serbia on the issue of Kosovo and Metohija.

A special topic of discussion were the activities as part of the 100th anniversary of the birth of the first president of Angola, Agostino Neto, who is respected in our country as a historical figure who symbolizes the spirit of the fight for freedom and independence, the values that represent the foundations of our own country as well.

The interlocutors agreed that there is mutual interest in improving insufficiently developed economic cooperation, as well as other types of cooperation.

The president said that he was particularly pleased that, as part of Serbia's commitment to further strengthening cooperation in the field of education, students from Angola are currently applying for the "World in Serbia 2022/23" project.

President Vucic met with the minister of internal affairs of Angola in the Palace of Serbia in Belgrade.
