Vucevic: The "5,000 Special Forces" project is already set up: There will be new bases as well

President Vucic will present the latest technology by the end of the month

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense Milos Vucevic was on Kurir TV when he talked about the importance of military service, the "5,000 soldiers" project and announced the opening of new bases. According to the latest research, Serbia is in the 58th place out of 145 countries, three places lower than since last year, reports Pink.

President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic previously stressed that the number of members of the army has increased and that we expect big salaries in this field, as well as that the main task is to increase the number of special troops from 1,600 to 5,000.

"Our ranking is to the country's pride. The better trained, equipped, satisfied and stronger the army is, the farther we are from any conflict and war. And why? Because no one wants to fight you when you are strong and powerful. Exactly the opposite of what all tycoon analysts claim. When you are weak and vulnerable, you are easy prey. By strengthening it, we confirm our concept of preserving peace and stability, but also regional cooperation and military neutrality.

We would have been ranked even better if we had received everything that was contracted and paid for. Because of the global conflict, Serbia was punished. When they impose sanctions on each other, Serbia suffers, because we did not get what we paid for. I think that by the end of January, the president of the Republic will show the most modern combat systems, which are partially produced in Serbia," said Defense Minister Milos Vucevic.

Everything has been set up in terms of organizational structure.

"Regarding the project of having 5,000 members of special units, we are working hard on it as the Ministry of Defense and the General Staff. We set everything up in terms of organizational structure," said the minister of defense.

Opening of new bases and military camps

"We have several special brigades, but we will have to expand those formational organizational matters. We defined which geographical areas would be important in the context of strategic decisions and assessments. We were looking to cover the central, eastern and northern parts of Serbia. Of course it has to be analyzed further. Quickly but not hastily. I am proud that everyone, even famous athletes, want to be part of the army. The calling of an officer is a privilege, not a regular one. We need an adequate number of soldiers, proportionate to the territory and the security situation," said Vucevic.
