December inflation reached 10 percent, the projection for February shows that it will remain elevated in the coming period and will afterwards be decreasing, so that at the end of the year it would be twice as low, Governor Jorgovanka Tabakovic told reporters today at the presentation of the inflation report.

According to her, the deficit was covered by the net inflow of foreign investments (7.1 percent of GDP).

FX reserves are at the highest level so far, the governor recalled.

Today, the National Bank of Serbia presented the "Inflation Report - February 2023" which was adopted by the Executive Board of the National Bank of Serbia at the meeting held on February 9.

The Executive Board recently decided to increase the reference interest rate by 25 base points, to the level of 5.5 percent.

The next session of the Executive Board, where a new decision on the key rate will be made, will be held on March 9.
