The former leader of the so-called KLA ("Kosovo Liberation Army") and the former president of so-called Kosovo, Hashim Thaci, today pleaded not guilty to all count sof the indictment, at the beginning of the trial before the Kosovo Specialist Chambers, located in The Hague.

"I understand the indictment, and I am fully not guilty," Hashim Thaci said before the judge, reports Tanjug.

The trial of the former leaders of the so-called KLA, Hashim Thaci, Kadri Veseli, Jakup Krasniqi and Rexhep Selimi started today before the Specialist Chambers with the opening presentation by the Prosecutor's Office.

Hashim Thaci faces 10 charges related to the crimes committed during the sedition in 1998 and 1999.

The Specialist Chambers announced that the participation of 140 victims was approved in the proceedings against former Kosovo president Hashim Thaci and other KLA leaders.

The indictment against Thaci and three of his war associates was published two and a half years ago, and they have been in custody for the same amount of time.

In all appearances before the Chambers in The Hague, they pleaded not guilty to the crimes.
