Special Prosecutor's Office of so-called Kosovo announced today that it has filed an indictment against M.D., an Albanian from Kosovo and Metohija, on suspicion that he committed "crimes against humanity" during the conflicts in Syria and Iraq.

He is also charged with the criminal offense of "serious violation of laws and customs that are applied during armed conflicts not of an international character," reports Koha.

The prosecution stated that crimes were committed against girls and women from the Yazidi community during the conflict in Syria and Iraq in the period from 2014 to 2017.

It is added that the criminal case is now under the jurisdiction of the Special Department of the Basic Court in Pristina.

The suspect has been remanded in custody pending the next court decision.
