Around 08:30, the family home of S.S.R. (56) turned into a slaughterhouse when her own son, LR. (25), went on his dark rampage. What followed after the attack itself - a movie-like escape from the hospital and a police chase - left the public stunned.
It all began with s gruesome attack. The son first started striking the the woman frantically with his fists and feet on the head and body, leaving her with numerous hematomas and bruises. As the mother lay helpless on the floor, the son grabbed a knife and plunged the blade directly into her neck! The intention was clear - to kill the woman who gave birth to him.
Heroic father
Zemun would probably be mourning the victim today if her husband, the assailant's father, had not burst into the room. Realizing that his son was about to murder his wife, the man jumped on the attacker without hesitation. The father wrestled the son for the knife, sustaining cuts in the process, but eventually managed to restrain the attacker.
The scene that the ambulance crew encountered was horrific: all three members of the family were covered in blood and injured. All were transported to the hospital, where the mother was rushed to the ICU in critical condition.
But the son took advantage of a moment of inattention and escaped from the hospital!
Chase and arrest
The Belgrade police immediately mobilized all available teams. All exits from the neighborhood were blocked, and operatives combed every meter of it until the fugitive was finally located. In a tense operation, the attacker was arrested and was again taken into custody.
Attempted murder
Justice quickly knocked on the door. By order of the Higher Public Prosecutor's Office L.R. has been charged with attempted murder. His mother is still in critical condition as doctors are doing their best to repair the horrific wounds to her neck.
"Thas is not a man, thas is a monster! If his own father had not jumped on the knife, he would have slaughtered the mother in front of everyone," said neighbors who are still shocked by the scenes they witnessed on Wednesday morning.
