Watch Belgrade police arrest suspected teen hitman: Pavle was caught while sleeping
19-year-old Pavle F. was arrested today in a major operation carried out by the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MUP) - the 3rd Department of the Criminal Investigations Police (UKP) - in cooperation with the Higher Public Prosecutor's Office in Belgrade.
UKP officers worked intensively to shed light on an aggravated murder that took place on November 22 of last year in New Belgrade, when a supporter group leader, 22-year-old Tadija Pantic, was shot and killed in public in broad daylight.
The video of the arrest released by the MUP shows the moment UKP members enter the suspect's apartment and find him sleeping. After that, they turn him onto his stomach, and handcuff him.
"It is suspected that Pavle F. fired several shots from a firearm at a 23-year-old man, who instantly died of his injuries," the Ministry of Internal Affairs said in a statement.
The suspect is now being detained for up to 48 hours by the police and will next be brought to the prosecutor's office along with a criminal complaint.
"Searches are underway in several locations in Belgrade," the MUP also said today.
Victim survived two previous attempts on his life
The murder of Tadija Pantic took place on November 22, 2025, around noon in Arsenija Carnojevica Boulevard while it was full of people. Two attackers on a scooter without license plates intercepted Pantic.
Sources from the investigation say that the victim, noticing the masked attackers, tried to escape.
Pantic ran along a path between the buildings, trying to get away from the killers. They caught up with him in a narrow passage and fired at least five shots, the ones to the head resulting in his death.
According to police records, Tadija Pantic was already targeted twice before. He survived a movie-like showdown on the Gazela Bridge in June of last year, while operational data indicates that a bomb that accidentally exploded in September in an apartment in central Belgrade was also intended for him. The third attack proved fatal for Pantic.
The police are now working to find out who was the accomplice on the scooter, but also who ordered this brutal liquidation. They are checking whether the suspect who has been arrested was hired to commit the murder as part of the war among supporter factions, or if the motive is a deeper conflict in the Belgrade criminal underground.
