Elected political representatives of the Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija and representatives of Serbian healthcare and educational institutions met in Kosovska Mitrovica today, and adopted a declaration.

The declaration demands that the citizens living in Kosovo and Metohija be provided with appropriate legal, administrative and other concessions in the process of obtaining personal documents, in order to ensure unhindered exercise of their basic human and civil rights as equal citizens.

The declaration also demands that university students and educational and healthcare system employees are able to enter and stay in Kosovo and Metohija during their study and work.

It is also demanded that all citizens be guaranteed the right to peaceful and unhindered use of their movable and immovable property, as well as the right to use vehicles, with application of appropriate legal and other concessions.

The declaration was adopted unanimously.

The meeting was held after Pristina announced that the implementation of the law on foreigners and motor vehicles will begin on March 15. Participants in the meeting included the Serb List leaders, mayors and councilors from all 10 municipalities with a Serb majority in Kosovo and Metohija, the rector of the University of Pristina with temporary headquarters in Kosovska Mitrovica, Nebojsa Arsic, deans and professors from this university, directors of Serbian healthcare institutions and directors of Serbian primary and secondary schools.
