Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic has offered his condolences to the family, friends and admirers of Croatian author Vedrana Rudan.

"It was with sadness that I received the news of Vedrana Rudan's death. Her words didn't knock before entering, they went straight to the point. She was able to make us laugh when we didn't feel like laughing and to say what others would have rather kept silent about," Vucic stated in a post on X.

He added that Vedrana Rudan had what he always respected in people, the courage to say what she thought, without calculations and without fear of antagonizing anyone.

"I believe that she would object to this as well, and she would almost certainly have written it shorter. I offer my sincere condolences to her family, friends and admirers of her work," stated President Vucic.

Croatian author and journalist Vedrana Rudan died at the age of 77 after a long battle with cancer.
