LADIES FROM SERBIAN PARLIAMENT: There HAS to be 30 women in our government!

The President of Women Parliament Connection in Serbia, Marija Obradovic, stated today that this connection will demand the participation of women in Serbian Parliament be raised to 30%.

The women in our parliament have the idea, goal that is, to ask from our government to raise the number of women to at least 30%. Moreover, there has to be more women at governing positions, as heads of companies, respectable institutions...

Only then can we be at the positions where the decisions are made and where we can actually change something - Said the Obradovic for the Radio Television of Serbia.

Obradovic noted that it is very important to have more women at governing positions as, she explained, that would implement a woman's way of dealing with problems.

- I think that women need to become a new, fresh and powerful team player, and the male population need not see us as a threat, but as an helping hand - Obradovic stated and went on to say that women that already occupy certain positions in parliament do not utilize them enough.

According to her, women need to be more dedicated, stronger, to deal with more clear matters as also to become more aggressive, both in presentation and drive to succeed.

Considering that this Connection was active in amending the budget debate where commodity finance was an issue, Obradovic said that there are many ways to help women in all areas.

A conference 'Equal and renewed-together we are strong', started yesterday in the Parliament of Serbia.
