THE TRAGIC EVENT THAT PUT SERBIA TO A GRINDING HALT! Twelve years ago, shot in the heart in the Government Building's yard, died former Prime Minister and leader of Democratic party Zoran Djindjic

On the 12th of March 2003, exactly at 12:30 pm the shots in front of the Government building shocked everyone, an armored Prime Minister's car rushed out from the yard and headed for Emergency Hospital. Then came the news that shocked everyone: ZORAN DJINDJIC WAS MURDERED

The assassination of Prime minister came after the failed attempt to do the same on the Belgrade-Zagreb highway next to Belgrade Arena, also included in the prosecution and conviction of the members of 'Zemunski klan'.

The professor of forensic medicine, doctor Slobodan Savic, one of three doctors that performed an autopsy after the murder, claims that the official truth of Djindjic's assassination is under the veil of lies.

According to him, only one coroner from the autopsy commission testified in the investigation of Dindjic's murder.

- An investigating judge decided to commit the expertise exclusively to former Institute for forensic medicine Director, even though there were three doctors that performed an autopsy. The record that states the cause of death says there were both entry and exit wounds as well as the direction from where the bullet was fired. There are several interpretations that are debatable in many aspects. The most unlcear one is that Djindjic was turned away from the door of the building, and this theory has not been backed by a single evidence except that the shot was fired from Gepratova 14 -  Savic explained at the promotion of his book 'Treci metak' (Third bullet).

- At the very mentioning of his name I feel enormous pain and the hole in my chest for a man that could save us from ourselves is no more - he said.

Lecic claims that Serbia would have far less problems and would be a perfect place to live in if Zoran was alive.

- Considering the speed and the energy that he dealt with all those problems, I can easily say that Serbia would have been be a member of the EU, we would have dealt with Kosovo and we would have had perfect life here - said Djindjic's brother-in-arms.
