We came across THIS SCENE at the grave of Ratko Mladic a few days after the funeral

A large number of citizens continue to visit the grave of Ratko Mladic in Belgrade. They go there to pay their respects and light candles. Flowers, wreaths and buring candles almost completely cover the tomb.

The former commander of the Army of the Serb Republic (VRS) who was convicted by the former ICTY was laid to rest on September 7, and the funeral itself was attended by thousands of people.

Many public figures, politicians and comrades-in-arms were present among the crowd that gathered at the cemetery. Because of the huge number of citizens who came to pay their respects, endless lines formed, and access to the cemetery itself was difficult for hours.

Ratko Mladic died after a long period of poor health, while serving a sentence of life in prison, in a detention unit in The Hague.

His health drastically deteriorated in recent months, and despite the requests by his family and defense team to allow Mladic to receive medical treatment in his fatherland, he died in the Netherlands.

Ratko Mladic's remains were repatriated to Serbia to be buried in the presence of his family and a large number of citizens.
