The Montenegrin Inspection Affairs Directorate “fined” Saint Basil of Ostrog 500 euros, according to the Montenegrin media.

This is written on the payment slip that the Metropolitanate of Montenegro and the Littoral failed to comply with an order to pay a fine by the inspection.

“Saint Basil was fined because he was refurbishing the monastery”, says in4s.net.

The fine was paid by Amfilohije, the bishop of Montenegro and the Littoral diocese in the name of a saint, as stated on the payment slip. He rebelled against the ban by the inspection to continue the work on the monastery Ostrog by saying that he “will not wait for the shrine of St. Basil of Ostrog to fall down and then to start refurbishing.”
