Nis police filed a criminal complaint for fraud against M. M. (40) from the region of Topola on suspicion  that she took 548,000 dinars to allegedly secure jobs in America for three Nis residents.

The scam came to light when the prospective emigrants approached the US embassy and find out that their names were not on the list of applicants to go to this country.

Fraudsters rent out bogus rooms for the Croatian coast over the internet!

They tried to recover the money, but the M. M. stopped answering their calls and her current whereabouts are unknown.

In 2013, when posing as a representative of the Immigration Program of America, she fooled a young man and woman, leading them to immediately marry claiming that it would be easier for them to get an immigrant visa in this manner. Believing they were dealing with a serious person, they recommended her to their friends, and so on.

In this manner, the defrauded citizens of Nis came into contact with her. They never met her in person, but communicated with her through Facebook and e-mail. They paid an average of 1,700 euros into her bank account for the alleged costs of providing documentation  - say our interlocutors from the investigation.

Given that there are indications that the number of victims is higher, Nis police appealed to their citizens, if they recognize the person in the photograph as the person who offered them a job in America, for them to report her to the Police Department at the phone number 018 503 173.
