Very warm weather, with maximum daily temperatures between 30 and 35 degrees centigrade, will only last until next Tuesday.

The temperature will suddenly drop then, along with rain, thunderstorms and showers, the Republic Hydrometeorological Institute of Serbia (RHMZ) has announced.

This will end the heat wave, the longest this summer, which lasted the entire second half of August.

Thunderstorms and showers are expected on Tuesday, September 3 in the northwest of the country.

Long-term forecasts predict that temperatures will drop in that part of the country by about ten degrees on Tuesday, and will be nearly twice as low on Wednesday.

As forecasters previously announced, although September will also have warm days, this week is the last week of the real summer.
