Crnadak: Bosnia-Herzegovina will not support membership of so-called Kosovo in Interpol

Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) Foreign Minister Igor Crnadak said today that the country has a principled stand and will not support the membership of so-called Kosovo in Interpol.

"We have a principled position that this Council of Ministers has adhered to for four and a half years, namely that we support the membership of Kosovo in those associations and organizations on a list agreed by Belgrade and Pristina during the Brussels talks, and possibly other organizations agreed upon by Belgrade and Pristina. Since this is not about either case, BiH will not support Kosovo's membership in Interpol," Crnadak said, Sarajevo-based N1 television reports.

Speaking about the possibility of the EU discussing the opening of accession talks with North Macedonia and Albania on Tuesday, Crnadak said that the fact BiH will not be discussed at that meeting is a bad message, and the result of a year lost after the elections.

"Obviously, the parties in BiH that started the process have a big problem finishing it, which is why they've blocked other institutions. What we have today is totally unsustainable, like the parliament not functioning and certainly that meets with negative reactions in Europe," said Crnadak.

At the same time, he expressed hope that the Action Plan to implement the recommendations of the European Commission's opinion on BiH would be adopted tomorrow, which, he says, would mean BiH was sending "at least one positive signal" to the European Union.
