Average net salary in August was 54,115 dinars, up nine percent

The average net wage in Serbia in August 2019 amounted to 54,115 dinars (460 euros), up 8.7 percent in nominal terms and 7.3 percent in real terms compared to the same month last year, the Statistical Office has announced.

The average gross wage in August per employee reached 74,768 dinars, which is nominally 8.6 percent more, and 7.2 percent higher in real terms than in the same month in 2018.

In January-August 2019, compared to the same period last year, gross wages increased by 9.7 percent in nominal terms and 7.4 percent in real terms, while net salaries increased by 9.9 percent in nominal terms and by 7.6 percent in real terms.

Median net wages for August amounted to 41,927 dinars (365 euros), which means that 50 percent of workers received salaries up to the stated amount.
