China's ambassador in Belgrade, Chen Bo, said the coronavirus will not jeopardize major projects in Serbia, such as the construction of the Belgrade-Budapest railway and the Preljina-Pozega highway.

"There may be a slight delay, but we believe things will catch their rhythm immediately after the epidemic," she told the daily Vecernje Novosti.

Bo added that, as far as the Bor Mining and Smelting Complex and the steel mill in Smederevo are concerned, she doesn't see any direct impact from the epidemic on their business.

The Ministry of Health said that the Bor Institute of Public Health monitors the situation with Chinese workers and that they have all undergone health screening.
