Gnjilane police station commander Alban Ramushi, his deputy Naser Rahmani, chief of operations Niazi Kolgeci and a civil sector official have been suspended following a quadruple muder and suicide in Kosovo and Metohija.

According to Koha.net, they were suspended on the recommendation of the Inspectorate, after police officer Valdete Bllaca killed her father, mother and both brothers using a firearm, and then took her own life.

Mental issues

Media in Kosovo are reporting extensively on the details of the Gnjilanee tragedy; Koha says the Kosovo police confirmed that Valdete had mental problems. The police told Koha that Valdete had been diagnosed with such a problem earlier. The police said Valdete's service weapon had been taken away, but Koha unofficially learned that the murders were committed with a service gun, which she wasn't supposed to have in her possession.

Two bullets to the head

The victims were allegedly each shot dead with two bullets to the head. Sources reported that the older brother, Fisnik Bllaca, was killed by his sister while sleeping in his bedroom, Father Zecir and another brother, Blair, were killed in the living room while mother Hanife was killed in another room.

Bloodbath because they didn't start families?

According to relatives, the family seemed to get along, but they were obviously hiding some of their problems.

"In fact, Valdete and her brothers had not yet formed their own families, which may have been one of the reasons for disagreements and quarrels with their parents," one relative said, Novosti reports.
