Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic today visited defense industry factory Krusik in Valjevo.

Representatives of the government of Serbia visited Krusik's facilities - a plant manufacturing components for 155mm artillery missiles and ammunition.

President Vucic was accompanied by Defense Minister Aleksandar Vulin, Chief of General Staff of the Serbian Armed Forces Milan Mojsilovic, BIA Chief Bratislav Gasic and Finance Minister Sinisa Mali.

After the visit, the president of Serbia addressed the public and Krusik's workers.

About Albin Kurti

Asked if Kurti has strong support from Europe and is for that reason delaying the revoking of Pristina's taxes on Serbian goods - and whether stronger US pressure is expected on him to do that - Vucic said America would certainly not give up.

"I'm sure there are Kurti sympathizers among a part of the public in Europe," he said.

About his impressions from talking to workers

Vucic said people are worried about their future. He also recalled the NATO bombing during which the factory was damaged.

"In any case, Krusik is the heart of Serbia's defense system. I spoke with the management and some of the problems will be solved," he said.

Vucic said he was in Krusik because he had no fear of responsibility and would tell workers to their face what the situation in the company was like.

Addressing Krusik's workers

"But I ask you to help your country and to confirm with responsible behavior the chance to survive in the market and the reason to exist," said Vucic.

He said that workers would have no problem with either their wages or jobs.

"We came to see how and in what way to help, and I will say this in two parts: one is that it will be necessary to carry out thorough and serious reforms. I will invite representatives of trade unions to talk to them further because the state is ready to spend big money so that you have your jobs, but it must be spent responsibly," said Vucic.

He will also tour a facility where BR-1-57 air-to-ground missiles, 107mm ground-to-ground missiles and guided 2T and 2F Malyutka missiles are manufactured, a statement added.

Krusik produces mortar shells of all calibers (destructive, smoke, illuminating and training), guided and non-guided missiles (destructive and anti-armor), aircraft bombs, artillery ammunition, 40mm family ammunition, 82mm bullets, high-explosive anti-tank warheads, hand grenades, anti-tank mines and initial assets.
