Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov yesterday started his official visit to Serbia, and was welcomed at the airport by his Serbian colleague Ivica Dacic, followed by meetings with the state leadership of Serbia.

Immediately before Russian Minister Sergei Lavrov exited the plane, Ambassador of the Russian Federation Aleksandr Botsan-Kharchenko handed over a microphone to Minister Ivica Dacic as a gift from the Russian official. The microphone has a plate with the words "Ivica Dacic" engraved on it.

Upon his arrival, Lavrov met with President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic, and then with Dacic, after which the heads of diplomacy of Serbia and Russia gave statements to the media. After this Dacic also presented a gift to his Russian colleague.

It was a guitar made of wood from Serbia.

"Since my colleague, brother, and friend Sergei Lavrov is as musical as I am, I prepared a gift for him," said Dacic and gave Lavrov the guitar.

The guitar was intended as a gift for the 70th birthday of the foreign minister of Russia, but due to the coronavirus epidemic, the delivery was postponed for yesterday in Belgrade.

The head of Russian diplomacy also exchanged gifts with the president of Serbia, to whom he presented a monograph of one of the largest art institutions in Moscow, the Tretyakov Gallery.

"Serbian wines and a cigarette case, for a dear friend. Exchange of gifts with Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergei Lavrov," Vucic wrote on Instagram.
