The government in Pristina announced that it would reconsider its existing measures brought in order to suppress the coronavirus pandemic, and among the decisions should be the reintroduction of the 7-day home isolation obligation for people entering Kosovo from central Serbia, North Macedonia, Albania, and Montenegro.

According to Gazeta Express, the Ministry of Health is expected to propose new restrictions, which will take effectsubmitted on July 30.

Starting on July 30, all citizens coming from central Serbia, Albania, North Macedonia, Montenegro and Bosnia and Herzegovina who enter so-called Kosovo will have to prove with a test that they are not infected with the virus, Gazeta Express writes.

Entering and leaving so-called Kosovo will be conditional for all who come or go to countries at high risk of coronavirus infection, including citizens who go on vacation to those countries.

Isolation and 7-day self-isolation

Citizens of so-called Kosovo, who spend their summer in neighboring countries, will also spend 7 days in isolation upon their return unless they have a negative test for Covid-19.

Starting on July 30, all citizens of so-called Kosovo with a residence permit and those with a temporary permit who leave the territory of so-called Kosovo and do not return within 48 hours must prove that they are not infected with Covid-19 with a PCR test, otherwise they are required to remain in self-isolation for 7 days.

All persons in self-isolation will be registered with the Kosovo police.

Ban on pensioners going outside

The new measures include a ban on people over the age of 65 from going out at certain times of day.

"Citizens over the age of 65, with chronic diseases such as diabetes, hypertension and heart disease, chronic lung disease, patients with kidney diseases, patients with reduced immunity, oncology patients, can go outdoors in public places only in the early morning hours between 5 until 10 am, and in the evening from 6 pm to 9 pm," it is stated in a document sent to Klan Kosova.
