Many Serbian medieval monasteries adorn this unique scale model park near Resava Cave

One of the total of 13 parks of scale models that currently exist in the whole of Europe is located in Serbia. More precisely in the Pomoravlje District.

Where is the scale model park located?

When you start fromthe town of Despotovac and head in the direction of the Resava Cave, you will quickly come across this unique park. And if you are already in this part of Serbia, you should not miss the opportunity to visit it, especially since the tickets are really affordable.

The scale model park covers an area of ​​about 3,000 square meters, and was officially opened in 2009. Since then, it has been open every year between April 1 and November 1. Opening hours are from 10 am to 7 pm.

There is a parking area in front of the complex, while visitors can refresh themselves in a cafe-bar which is located inside the park.

Serbian medieval monasteries in one place

Although they were made at 1:17 scale, there are representations of many Serbian medieval monasteries in the park, whose creator is Milenko Ilic. Everyone who had the opportunity to visit this unique complex, came out richer for a new, beautiful experience.

Apart from a very true to life model of the monastery Zica, which is the most easily recognizable among Serbian medieval monasteries due to its color, the park offers the opportunity to see, among others, models of the monasteries Ravanica, Djurdjevi Stupovi and Kalenic, as well as Manasija, Studenica, Ljubostinja and Sopocani.

There is also a model of the Mileseva Monastery, but also of Gradac, which is the endowment of Queen Helen of Anjou, the wife of Serbian King Uros I Nemanjic.

Naturally, there is also a model of the Gracanica Monastery, but it is especially interesting to mention the model of the monastery of St. Ahilije, the endowment of Serbian King Dragutin, which is in real life located near Arilje.

The church dedicated to the Holy Apostles Petar and Pavle (Peter and Paul), popularly known as Petrova Church, which is in the territory of Novi Pazar, is also immortalized in this way.
