Yesterday's data that said another 100 people were infected with coronavirus in Serbia is important and encouraging, but it seems that it's not completely realistic - because fewer citizens report to Covid clinics on Sundays, says epidemiologist Predrag Kon.

Kon, who is a member of the Crisis HQ, told TV Prva that the number of the newly infected people on a daily basis is expected to be between 100 and 200.

"The virus is still present and it's always looking for a way of transmission to another person because that is its way of survival," Kon stressed and again pointed out the importance of wearing masks and keeping physical distance, because that has produced results.

Kon stressed that the activity of the virus is increasing in Europe and that the same can happen in Serbia as well.

He also spoke about the epidemiological situation in Serbia and whether the opening of the border with Montenegro increases the risk of spreading the virus.

Will the huge number of Serbians who rushed to Montenegro for vacation after the opening of the border "spoil" the epidemiological situation in Serbia? Will mandatory quarantine be introduced for them upon return?

"The epidemiological risk is certainly increasing. Anyone who says differently doesn't know what they're talking about. We have to discuss that. Measures towards Bosnia and Herzegovina and Montenegro are also under the influence of politics. I won't talk about it anymore. There is epidemiological risk ," said Kon.

"In other countries, there is a clear list published by the CDC that places them into green, blue, red zones, depending on the rate of new cases in a period of 14 days. Something similar will have to happen here. Our people are only going to Montenegro now, what will happen when they return... So it should come as no surprise to anyone if the quarantine measure is introduced. I can't announce it, I'm speaking on my own behalf. What the Crisis HQ is saying, I then clearly say - this is my personal opinion."
