The Government of the Republic of Serbia today adopted a program of scheduling the use of subsidies to support the work of the hotel industry in Serbia due to business difficulties caused by the epidemic of the Covid-19 disease caused by the SARS-COV2 virus.

The program includes privately owned hotels in 67 municipalities and cities in Serbia, which will be given subsidies in the amount of 350 euros (in dinars) per bed and 150 euros per accommodation unit, or per room.

Hoteliers lose the right to use these subsidies if they reduce the number of workers by more than 10 percent in the period from August 15 to December 31, 2020.

The Ministry of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications will publish a public call for submission of applications from September 1 until September 15, which will be published on the official website of the Ministry: www.mtt.gov.rs

The Serbian government has decided to adopt a subsidy program to preserve the hotel industry and jobs in the sector, which suffered heavy losses during the pandemic and has this been thus brought to the brink of survival.
