Director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija Marko Djuric said today that Avdullah Hoti cannot run away from the creation of the Community of Serb Municipalities (ZSO), and added that the issue will be closed once the Community has been formed.

"Hoti is free to lie to the public as much as he wants, but he will not run away from the creation of the Community of Serbn Municipalities. He sings a different tune at the meetings in Brussels, and not only promises to enable the formation of the Community of Serb Municipalities, but also guarantees additional authority for it," said Djuric.

He added that Hoti should urgently take steps to form the Community of Serb Municipalities, after a seven-year delay.

According to Djuric, Hoti must explain to the Albanian public in Kosovo and Metohija that he is participating in the process of normalization of relations, not in a "dialogue about mutual recognition" and that in order to normalize relations, the parties in the dialogue should show more credibility and less treachery.

"The issue of the ZSO will be closed when once it has been formed in accordance with agreements reached in Brussels, and not even then, because the Community is designed and agreed on as an institution that can evolve and expand its membership and its competencies," said Djuric.

He added that the essence of the process of normalization of relations is a gradual strengthening of mutual trust, while Serbs cannot trust Albanian political structures if they are systematically denied their acquired rights, while an atmosphere of anti-Serb hysteria is being created.

"Serbs and Albanians, if we are to live in lasting peace, should have a period of strengthening of cooperation ahead, and that has nothing to do with Hoti's dreams about 'mutual recognition', but very much so has something to do with how Pristina respects agreements and acts towards Serbs and other non-Albanians in Kosovo and Metohija," Djuric pointed out.

Prime Minister of the Provisional Institutions of Pristina Avdullah Hoti stated today that the issue of the ZSO will not be opened in the dialogue with Belgrade, because, as he said, that issue was closed with the agreement from 2013.
