Serbian Ambassador to the United States Marko Djuric has received an invitation to attend the inauguration of US President-elect Joseph Biden, Tanjug has learned.

Djuric and his wife have been invited to Biden's inauguration on January 20 in Washington.

The presidential inauguration traditionally attracts hundreds of thousands of visitors to Washington, but it will now be much more modest, due to the Covid pandemic.

Joseph Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris will take the solemn oath that day and give an introductory speech during the ceremony.

The event will be broadcast on CBS, ABC, CNN, NBC, MSNBC, and will be streamed on YouTube, Facebook, Twitter and some other online platforms.
