The best known brown bear in southwestern Serbia has woken up from hibernation. The famous bear Milos was filmed at the Kasan feeding ground on Mt. Jadovnik, where he came for dinner.

"He otherwise only comes to the feeding ground at night, and that was the case this time as well. He seems to have been hibernating for a long time, so he was eating for about three hours. The bear Milos has been under observation for several years and during that time he sent about 20,000 pieces of data. Sometimes it happens that during the winter he changes his dens," Vjekoslav Joksimovic, the president of UG Jadovnik from Prijepolje, which gathers animal lovers, told RINA.

Along with Milos, this February, another brown bear woke up from his winter sleep and also came to the feeding ground.

"This is an individual that we named Malisa. He has been appearing in our territory since last year, when his mother left him. This is a young individual," says Joksimovic.

So far, brown bears from Mt. Jadovnik have not caused major damage to rural households. The Kasan feeding ground also contributes to that, to where 30 to 50 tons of food are taken out annually, so the bears don't have to look for their meals elsewhere.
