Air Serbia, in cooperation with the International Air Transport Association (IATA), will start testing the IATA Digital Passport ("IATA Travel Pass") in early April. It is a mobile application that helps passengers easily and safely organize travel in accordance with countries' requirements that concern COVID-19 testing or vaccination.

In this way, the Serbian national airline will be among the first carriers in Europe to become part of a global initiative aimed at reopening quarantine-free borders, as well as guaranteeing travel safety and recovery of tourism and the aviation industry.

The first phase of the testing of the application will take place on Air Serbia flights between Belgrade and Zurich, it will last several weeks, and passengers will be invited to participate.

The IATA Travel Pass will allow passengers to store and manage data related to COVID-19 test results on their phones, as well as to share their verified status with the airline in a safe and secure manner before arriving at the airport. The IATA digital passport will also provide up-to-date information on coronavirus health regulations, helping travelers to check whether they meet the latest requirements of the country of entry.

Air Serbia passengers will have the opportunity to easily create their digital passports. After testing and/or vaccination, reference laboratories will securely send protected data to an individual's application. IATA Travel Pass will then compare the necessary travel conditions with the passenger data and all those who meet the requirements of their desired destination will receive a green travel label.

The application, as a safe place for digital storage of health data, will not only speed up the process of registering passengers for flights, but will also create potential for contactless travel going forward.
