Irish photographer and world traveler Dean Coady currently lives in Dorcol, Belgrade, a place that has become his inspiration, but also both the background and main subject of his photographs.

This artist is particularly interested in the shadows and tavern music culture and its resemblance to wild, hidden pubs he visited in his youth in rural Ireland.

The Belgrade Irish Fest gave him the opportunity to explore his nomadic and often frenetic art in a static environment. The Belgrade audience will be able to find out tomorrow what he discovered and how he captured the visible and invisible spirits of this beloved region, reviving every corner and crack and exploring its dilapidated beauty with the eye of the camera.

Dean's exhibition will open on Friday, March 12, at 5 pm at UK Parobrod, 6A Kapetan Misina Street. The seven-day exhibition should faithfully present the artist's work in the field of portraits, music and travel photography.

Once again this year, the Belgrade Irish Festival managed to present an interesting mix of online and outdoor content, as well as screenings and promotions in Kinoteka and UK Parobrod, while adhering to all epidemiological measures of the Government of the Republic of Serbia.

This is a multidisciplinary program that has been held in central city locations every March since 2013. This year's hybrid program (online and on-site) consists of a seven-day film program, theater, outdoor exhibition, photo competitions, conversations, green lighting, lectures, and various other events organized around St. Patrick's Day that is celebrated all over the world on March 17.

Since the very beginning, the Belgrade Irish Fest has been the largest annual celebration of Irish culture in the Western Balkans, but also one of the biggest Irish festivals in a country that does not have a large Irish population.
