Commenting on the announcement of the European Union about introducing Covid passports covering vaccines approved in the EU, Prime Minister Ana Brnabic said on Sunday that this goes against all basic European values and that it should not be treated as a geopolitical issue, Tanjug reports.

Replying to journalists while visiting the village of Junkovac near Lazarevac, Brnabic said that she thinks the people in Brussels and all relevant health agencies there are aware of the fact that both the Chinese and the Russian vaccine are effective and safe.

"I cannot believe that only because of the geographical origin of these vaccines, they can discriminate against all the people who received them," said the prime minister.

She also said that she does not believe that such a decision will become an official EU decision.

But even if it does, Brnabic said that citizens who have been vaccinated with Sinopharm or Sputnik V vaccines will certainly be able to travel because, she added, the state will do everything necessary to ensure that antibody and PCR tests are done in record time, so they can travel.

Earlier, President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic said that citizens of Serbia should not worry about traveling. He added that those who received the Chinese vaccine should not be concerned because they will be provided with permits. He commented after the news that only citizens who have been vaccinated with a vaccine approved by the European Medicines Agency will be able to move freely within the EU.
