Contract signed to buy 2 more million Chinese vaccines: Hospitals, vaccine plant also a topic

President of the Republic of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic today spoke via video link with the management of Sinopharm about the process of procurement of vaccines, building a Chinese vaccine plant in Serbia, but also about building and equipping Serbian hospitals. He thanked the President of the People's Republic of China Xi Jinping, the leadership of the Communist Party and representatives of Sinopharm for their help in supplying vaccines in the most difficult moment.

Vucic stressed that most Serbian citizens who got vaccinated received the Sinopharm vaccine and emphasized the importance of signing a new contract for 2 million more vaccines.

He stressed that Serbian experts rated the quality and safety of the Sinopharm vaccine very highly.

Chairman of Sinopharm Group Liu Jingzhen thanked the president and citizens of Serbia for the trust placed in the company and added that since the beginning of the pandemic in 2020, Sinopharm, as the largest pharmaceutical company in China, has taken on the responsibility for fighting this disease.

"Serbia is the first European country to approve the Sinopharm vaccine, and today we will sign an agreement for the delivery of 2 million new doses. We appreciate the trust of the citizens in our product and we are happy that we can provide the necessary support to the people in Serbia in the fight against the virus," said Liu Jingzhen.

A topic of conversation was also the construction, reconstruction and equipping of hospitals in Serbia, the president's service for cooperation with the media announced.

On this occasion, a contract was signed to buy more vaccines from Sinopharm, while the meeting and the signing was also attended by Ambassador of the People's Republic of China Chen Bo.
